The LG 34WN750 arrived yesterday. I'm disappointed with the HDR that Windows is displaying, though that could just be settings related.

Other than that the whites are white, blacks are black, it's very colorful, no dead pixels, etc. Overall I'm very happy with it.

That's unfortunate about the HDR. I am happy to hear that your pleased with the overall look however. Is that the first model or the same B version? Still waiting for mine. I don't think it's even in stock at B&H's warehouse.

level 2

Don't even bother with HDR on such a low brightness screen, it's such a gimmick to sell screens. You either want a screen capable of displaying HDR producing at least 1000nits or an OLED with infinite contrast.

level 2

Now that you've had 34WN750 for 3 months, what are you impressions? Still happy with it? I'm looking to get UW to pair with Macbook Pro. Gaming isn't really an issue. Coding, school work for kids.

You will be disappointed with the quality of LG monitors. You can be lucky on having a unit that won't give you any issues but you can be unlucky to get one that has flickering, artifacts and dead pixels issues. I had one that worked for 3 weeks. Not acceptable on monitors that cost over 1000 bucks.

I just ordered the LG 34WN750-B off BHPhotoVideo because at US$500 it's a sweet deal. But it's just listed as "back-ordered" until it's actually in stock, and I'm not sure how long I want to wait.

level 2

I just ordered mine today. Hoping it comes out within the next few weeks. Coming from a BenQ GW2765. Hoping that I take to love it the same as I do my BenQ.

I ordered the monitor as well, but I put my order in last week through a authorized dealer on eBay. Specs wise this is the best monitor I could find for this price. I can't find any reviews but I'll let you know what I think on Thursday!

If you find any reviews before then, or if anyone has any firsthand impressions, please do comment or message me.

A couple of other notes. The GeForce control panel allows me to set the color depth to 10 bit on this monitor, is that just a standard option now? Or is this monitor actually 10 bit?

FreeSync also works on my NVIDIA card with no issues.

I've played around with hdr a bit but no matter what settings I use Windows hdr just looks like crap. Hopefully someone finds this helpful!

level 2

Question - did you ever find out more about the 10-bit setting?

The monitor is listed as having only 8-bit, but if it accepts a 10-bit signal, I'm hypothesizing it's 8-bit + FRC (which allows an approximation of 10-bit display). If it has FRC, then the monitor will accept a 10-bit signal, but not be a "true" 10-bit display (though FRC is good at approximating closely).

Ya I wouldn't be surprised either. Thank you for your insight regarding last years model that would make sense.
